How Cashback Browser Extensions Positively Impact Shopper Behavior (Infographic)

Despite many objectively positive US economic indicators (a historically low unemployment rate, record-setting stock market performance, and higher average wages),  US consumers still seem to be cautious. Sure, they're spending at retail, but more and more they are using a variety of tools to help them save money on those purchases.

To learn more about the tools and tactics that today's savings-conscious consumers use, we conducted a survey of 1,000 demographically varied US consumers with research firm Big Village, resulting in our Oct. 2024 whitepaper, "Banking on Shopping Rewards - The Value-Added Services Today's Consumers Prefer."

One of the most popular and effective tools consumers use today to save when they shop online are cashback and coupon browser extensions. In this year’s survey, nearly 1 in 3 (27%) of respondents report using cashback browser extensions more than last year. Browser extensions also empower shoppers, and benefit online merchants to boot.

The following infographic based on our survey data illustrates how today's deal-seeking online shoppers are using browser extensions to shop smarter. (Click to download the full infographic as a pdf.)
